Third Annual Social Business Conference
13 November 2008
Following the success of our conference last year, we would like to invite you to this year's event. As in previous years, this will be exclusively for social business Chief Executives and a select number of investors. It will be held on 13th November 2008 at the Emirates Stadium, London.
In contrast to many social sector conferences, Catalyst's one-day event focuses on the day-to-day business challenges and opportunities facing senior managers in this growing sector-not just on networking. Speakers will provide real insights into practical issues and they will welcome rigorous questioning. There will be plenty of opportunity to network during the day (and a stadium tour!).
The topic of our conference this year is:
'Social Business - What do you really need?'
Social businesses need at least three things to succeed: a stable macroeconomic and political environment, talented people and sufficient capital. Thus the topics of our sessions will be:
- Which main UK Party does the best for Social Business/Enterprise?
- How do you build a top-quality team?
- How to raise capital-what are investors really looking for?
The day will start at 9:00 and finish at approximately 17:30, followed by a drinks reception, which will be ideal for networking and getting to know other CEO’s and potential investors.

Conference programme:
The conference programme for this year is yet to be confirmed. It will consist of three panels and one 'speed-dating' session between companies and investors, with a break in the middle for lunch. We will also, as before, be providing drinks after the event and hopefully a tour of the ground.

Feedback from last year's conference:
“Thanks again for organising a really useful and inspirational day yesterday. It was good to meet people, hear their stories and see how they are doing business successfully – not only being faithful to their principles, but also actively modelling socially and ethically responsible business to the rest of the business community.”
“Really energising to be in the company of such stimulating, bright and committed peers…a great learning opportunity.’
“It was a great event and something I would like to do next year too…’
