It has launched the UK’s first biodegradable bottle, made from corn, that will commercially compost back to nature within 12 weeks. In addition, Belu is the UK’s first Carbon Neutral bottled water brand. This way, consumers can vote against climate change every time the shop. Shell Foundation and Marks & Spencer have piloted an ethical supply chain and small business support model that brings high quality, fairly and sustainably produced products to M&S shelves as part of its larger Plan A initiative. Cataly st is working with the partnership to capture learnings from the pilot and spin out a business entity that will identify high-potential SMEs in the developing world and provide them with access to retailers in the North.
