Financial Criteria

We make investments in UK growth companies that can deliver attractive financial returns where tangible social benefits can be identified, measured and realised. We are pioneers in a field that we believe has been under-exploited by the venture capital industry and we hope that by delivering strong financial returns, we will attract new investors to this area.

We are seeking to make investments in social businesses that have:

• growth potential
• delivered or are capable of delivering positive earnings and cashflow in the year of investment
• a management team that combines passion and professionalism
• the potential for an exit over a 5 year time period.

The Fund will be targeting businesses in 4 key market sectors:

• Energy Efficiency & Environment
• Health & Wellness
• Education, Training & Recruitment
• Ethical Consumerism

The Fund will have a balanced investment strategy and will consider a range of opportunities including:

• expansion and development capital
• management buy outs and buy ins
• minority stakes
• pre IPO fundings
• “buy and builds”

The Fund will not invest in any start ups.

Investment range: Minimum of £2m up to a maximum of £6m. We can invest alone or as a co-investor, as a majority and significant minority shareholder as appropriate.
